Important School Reminders
Just a few reminders for families with the start up for the new school year:
All parents and guests to the school must check in with the office. If your child needs to be walked to class, one of the staff members will be happy to walk them. We do not permit parents/guardians to be walking freely throughout the school, without guest passes.
Start time warning bell is at 8:40am. Students who are late need to check in with Mrs. McLeod, in the office before heading to class.
Download the P站视频 app (instructions below) and keep up to date with the school calendar and events. . All our school communication is done via email, the website and the APP. Everything posted on the website is linked to the APP. Please download and keep yourself up to date.
Nut Sensitive School: We are a nut sensitive school in that several staff and students have nut allergies, some of which are quite serious. As a result, please avoid sending nuts/nut products to school. Classroom teachers have gone over this with students and those that have life threatening allergies in their classroom need to be especially careful about this. In addition, we have several egg allergies however, we cannot prevent eggs from coming into the school but again, if egg allergies are in certain classrooms, teachers will ensure it is discussed with students and families.
Backpack Program: Our Port Alberni community offers a weekly food delivery/pick up program to families in need. Attached is the application form and a brief write up about the program that is open to families, however there are a limited number of packs available. Please see the office for an application or see attachment.
Lunch Program: P站视频 offers a daily nutritious lunch program for students who sign up and wish to participate. Each day and health variety sandwich (salami, tuna, turkey, ham etc), a piece of fruit and snack is offered and delivered to classrooms. Attached is the one time "opt in" form and a QR code provided to voluntary payment. More information with your classroom teacher or the office. The forms were sent out to all students on the first day, in their start up package of documents needing to be signed by parents.
